Bagger288… alive for 2010!

I am also involved with a noise-improvisation group called bagger288.  We’ve been dormant for a little while, and also have been trying to transition into being more of a multimedia collective rather than just a noise band.  But we are keeping the audio alive and did a great improvisation lately.  You can see the bagger288 website here at www.bagger288.com.

Here is an mp3 of the jam we did.  Expect this track on an upcoming release with handmade CD artwork, as well as some other fresh tracks!

Live Set Preview: Guitar and Drums

I’ve been working on my live set that I’ll be playing next month on Dec 4th at the “Sugar” bakery in the first hill neighborhood here in seattle.  I’m using the stuff i’ve been blogging on lately: Audiomulch, the Novation Launchpad.  I’m also playing my guitar through some external effects before it goes into my battery of effects in Audiomulch, and then looping the guitar signal in one of Audiomulch’s looper contraptions.

Anyhow, the idea is to make a live set with nothing much more than guitar looping, and some backing percussion.  I knocked the frets off this guitar a long time ago, and it helps me to think of the instrument more as a big playground of frequencies and sounds, instead of like a normal guitar.  Here’s a couple tracks!  I’m really only about 1/2 way done preparing for this set, in my mind, so my live set should be more refined and hopefully broader sounding than these loops.  But I’m pretty satisfied with the results thus far.

Golden Master has much to teach you

I’m kick-starting my new musical persona with a new blog where i’ll post some content about my musical ideas and various improvisations, experiments, and synth jams.  Hope to update this blog at least every few days, so check back if you can.  I have a colossally huge backlog of material that I can sort through and post here, so I am going to try and post things up with some explanations of the techniques involved, and the patch files if there are any!

Come again soon.  The Golden Master has much to teach you.
